Ice Bucket challenge issued to Nucleus by Redmill

CHARITY: David Tait and the team at Redmill Resourcing have issued a corporate Ice Bucket challenge to David Ferguson chief executive of Nucleus wrap and his team.

Redmill believes this is the first business to business corporate Ice Bucket challenge. The question is will Ferguson and Nucleus rise to the challenge or do a President Obama and cop out? They have three days to carry out the challenge.

Ferguson and Nucleus must then nominate another corporate to take the Ice Bucket challenge.

The ice bucket challenge raises money by having participants dump a bucket of ice cold water over their heads or donate to a nominated charity. The challenge started in the US with donations going to the ALS Association (for issues related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).

ALS, often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to fatality. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralysed.

The “ice bucket” challenge has helped raise funds for this excellent cause and Redmill hopes that by introducing a corporate version of this challenge more money can be raised for this worthy cause. Redmill Resourcing has donated a sum to this charity and hopes all nominated from this point forward will do the same.

In the UK donations have been going also to the Motor Nuerone Disease Association and Macmillan Cancer Support.
