Nucleus launches Recruitment Club support service

Platform provider Nucleus has launched the Nucleus Recruitment Club, a support service for its members, in a tie-up with recruitment firm Redmill Resourcing, which specialises in financial services.

In addition, Nucleus has published a White Paper – Recruitment for financial planning practices – which is a practical guide aimed at helping firms create a structured recruitment process.

Introducing the Club, Barry Neilson, business development director at Nucleus, says: “Post RDR, with the focus on serving clients rather than distributing, products firms are under pressure to deliver the right level of client engagement at the right price. Having the right team in place with the right skills and experience to enable firms to reach their strategic goals is essential.

“In a recent survey, 80% of our members said they would be recruiting in the next 12 months, whether advisers, paraplanners or admin staff, but it can be a costly and difficult process. It’s not a science and a bad hire can affect a firm’s reputation, staff morale and productivity.

“We’ve partnered with Redmill Resourcing, a firm we
use ourselves to select the right people for the job, and launched the Nucleus Recruitment Club to Nucleus advisers to help them in developing their teams and establishing a robust recruitment process.”

Club members pay £99 + VAT a month to access a wide range of support tailored to the individual business and Nucleus has arranged a fixed rate fee of £2,500 for Redmill to help firms to recruit new people with step-by-step support throughout the interview and selection process.

“With simple agency costs for recruitment at 17% to 20% of first year salary making a mistake can be very costly. We believe this fixed rate fee represents very good value for money,” Neilson says.

Services available through the club include:
• Consultancy service
• Fixed fee recruitment
• Salary benchmarking
• Contract review
• Candidate selection
• Induction and training
• Existing team development

The Recruitment Club is available only to Nucleus members but the White Paper is generally available and may be downloaded
from the nucleus website:
