Adviser Centre acquires Scopic Research
Adviser Centre, the investment research and consultancy arm of the Embark Group, has acquired specialist multi-asset research provider Scopic Research.
The combined business will conduct investment research and due diligence on funds, multi-manager products/models and discretionary fund management offerings, as well as carrying out bespoke assessments of specialist illiquid investment instruments.
The Adviser Centre and Scopic Research, will remain trading names and the combined operation be led by investment director Peter Toogood.
Chase de Vere to use Intelliflo to upgrade its core IT operating system
Chase de Vere is partnering with Intelliflo to help upgrade its back, middle and front office systems and improve efficiencies for its advisers and support staff.
The company said it had spent over 12 months researching the market and analysing the various options, “taking on board valuable feedback from employees and external experts”, before deciding on using Intelliflo’s Intelligent Office system.
New chairman for Tilney Bestinvest
Will Samuel has been appointed as chairman of Tilney Bestinvest, replacing outgoing Chairman Mike Covell. Samuel brings commercial, capital markets and regulatory expertise to Tilney Bestinvest having worked for over 35 years in the City and held a number of non-executive positions. He is currently chairman of TSB Banking Group, which he took through IPO after the de-merger from Lloyds Bank plc. The appointment is subject to FCA approval.
Sandringham appoints a Chief Operating Officer
Sandringham Financial Partners has appointed a Chief Operating Officer (COO) as the company continues to develop and improve its range of offerings to members.
Board and chief compliance director Tim Grey has been appointed into the role. Grey has 15 years’ experience in the industry and joined Sandringham in 2015 as Compliance Director and was appointed to the board in 2016.
Tim Sargisson, Chief Executive at Sandringham said the firm’s need for a COO reflected “the growing complexity of Sandringham as we expand both our partner numbers and our scope of services.”
AXA’s Zanelli joins Ascentric
Ascentric has announced the appointment of Andy Zanelli as senior technical consultant. Zanelli has 27 years’ financial services experience and was Head of Technical Consultancy for AXA Wealth providing technical support for financial planners. Ascentric said Zanelli will be responsible for “developing and implementing a market leading adviser technical support function particularly focused on interpreting and communicating how changes in tax and regulation will impact financial advisers”.
